Abstract

The article analyzes the current trends of economic development in the Middle East and North Africa. The estimation of the impact of the global nature of the crisis on the region. When analyzing the ratio of the change in GDP and oil prices in the period 1970-2011 in the world and during the last decade in the MENA region, it was revealed that the trend of falling rates of economic growth during the first and second waves of energy crisis (1973-74, 1974-1985), as well as in 1991 and 2008 c correlated increase in world oil prices.
