The article analyzes the current trends of development of the world energy market in the context of the development of energy-saving technologies. The features of the stages of development of world energy. The structure of world energy consumption, which will be diversified and balanced in 2040, when there will be a gradual alignment of individual share of fossil fuels (oil - 27%, gas - 25 %, coal - 25%) and non-fossil (totaling 23%).
